App Support

Welcome to App Support’s Frequently-Asked-Questions. Below, please find suggestions for how you can trouble-shoot the most commonly-encountered issues.

In order for the app to feel ‘like magic’, we’ve hidden the camera from display. While you will not see an active camera, rest assured that the camera is working in the background when the app is active. Simply hold your phone over a page and the phone will detect that page automatically.

Illustrations will display on-screen that correspond to the song you’re listening to! If you’re having trouble getting your phone to recognize a page, try it from a different height, angle, or closeness.

Good news! You’re already on the correct website. Just click this link to visit the App Page or open the AppStore or Google Play Store on your phone and search for “Wild Symphony.” In either location, you can download and install the app on your phone.
Make sure that the app is enabled to use your camera. Please find instructions below:

• iPhone users: Open Settings. Select the Wild Symphony app. You’ll see a prompt that reads “Allow WildSymphony to Access:” Toggle Camera permission to “On.” It will turn green.

• Android users: Open Settings. Select Apps & Notifications. Select the Wild Symphony app. Select Permissions. Toggle Camera permissions “On.”

The first thing to do is restart the app. The best practices for using the app’s image recognition are:

  1. Hold your phone 6 inches – 2 feet (15-90cms) away from the book
  2. Slowly scan the page with your phone.
  3. The song will automatically engage!

The Wild Symphony app uses augmented reality that is based on image recognition. In order to recognize the pages in the picture book, the app must be able to see them. Providing the app with access to your camera permits this interaction.

If you’d prefer not to use the app’s image recognition feature, you can still play each of the songs. Just click the arrows to advance between tracks or open the “Animals” box to select the song that you’d like to listen to. However, if your camera is not enabled, you will miss out on secret easter eggs that are hidden within the book.
This app was built primarily for iPhones or iPads using iOS 10.0 or later, and Android devices using Android 7.0 or later. If your model is older than will support the operating systems above, you can still use the app to play the music from Wild Symphony. Unfortunately, the image recognition will not engage. As such, you must manually click the arrows to advance between tracks or open the “Animals” box to select the song that you’d like to listen to. However, you will miss out on secret easter eggs that are hidden within the book.

Wild Symphony for Android is now available in the Google Play Store’s Designed For Families category. Download the app from the Play Store and re-install it. This will allow you to receive future updates.

The app will be partially functional, but it really is built to interact with the book. If you don’t have a copy, you will miss out on the image recognition function, as well as the easter eggs hidden within the book.
Yes, simply click the far right icon beneath the audio track on any animal’s playback screen or engage the Play All button (the last icon) in the “Animals” box. Watch the video above for visuals!
Yes, the app is available in English, Spanish, French, German, and Simplified Chinese. To change the language of the app, click the “I” icon in the upper right and select your preferred language.

The Wild Symphony app utilizes image recognition to recognize the page that you’re viewing and play the corresponding song. If you click the arrows to advance to a new song or select one from the Animals Box, that song will play. However, if your camera is still pointed at a previous page, the image recognition will kick in and that song will override your manual selection.

If the app persistently crashes upon launch, please restart your phone and try re-opening the app.
Yes – After the app has been installed using either a wifi or cellular connection, it does not need to be connected to the internet.
Yes! To connect your preferred Bluetooth or Airplay device, click the Bluetooth icon below the audio track. This will open a new menu where you can select the device that you’d like to connect.
If you don’t see your Bluetooth speakers within the app’s Bluetooth menu, it’s possible that your phone is not yet detecting them. Exit the app and open your phone’s settings. Then, select Bluetooth. Make sure that Bluetooth is “On” (The tab should be green). Below that, your phone will show what devices are available. Manually select your preferred device and reopen the Wild Symphony app to hear the songs through your speakers.
